Vegas.. LAX and not having a 26th birthday

Gotta b quick o internet terminal, expensive.Been in vegas for a week having a wicked time, heaps of people i knew are still there. Screwed up my days of teh week, was supposed to be at the airport yesterday. todays the 27th! not the 26t like it says on my watch. So there was much stuffing around with flights. andywa im going to be leaving soon, on the 27th and arriving on the 29th so no birthday for me..

MeHICKo

Been in mexico city for tre dias (3 days) now, enjoying the cerveza (beer) and particually the obscura cervza (dark beer). Im staying just off the central square where, for the last 3days the mexicans have been enjoying a 24h a day street party. Rumor at the hostel has it that they are trying to wake up jesus.

It ended at sunrise this morning, and i was just begining to enjoy some blessed sleep, (pun intended), when the easter church bells started.

Not really sure what im going to do now, its a 6 hour caminero (bus) ride to oaxaca (prounounced oh HA car), and a 15 hour bus ride to the coast (cancun, mazatlan), and , which is going to cost me more than interline coupons would have if id just bought them in sydney before i left... (why oh why didnt i get more coupons...)

Ive pretty much seen all i want to of mexico city, and i really cant be arsed sitting on a bus for 2 days for only 2 days where ever i go, so im heading back to Los angeles tommorow, which by the way offers just as much opportunity to practice my spanish as mexico...

Ben, Mexico, etc etc

Off to see ben harper tonight. Then next friday im off to mexico for 10 days. Just bought tickets from LAX to MEX, ill sort out the SYD-LAX tickets a little later in the week.
The plan, assuming i dont get stuck in LA is to fly to mexico city then get a bus to acupoulco. If i do get stuck in LA and all the flights to mexico are full, then im going to vegas for a couple of days, then over to a little town called scottsville arizona, where the space access 2003 conference is on.

Whistler Cancelled

Air canada is going bankrupt, so i could get stuck in canada with out a ticket, there's that disease (SARS), they cant tell me if i can take a snowboard on the plane subload, the flight leaves a day early and if i get bumped on the way back, in hawaii, its a 2 day wait for the next qantas flight.
Plus, if i get a cold (even just a regular one) they probably wont let me on the aeroplane home...
So Canada is Cancelled.
Maybe Mexico, or Vegas.. Stay tuned.

New Radiohead album

Listening to the new radiohead album, hail the thief. First impressions are that this is the best radiohead album ever. Im definetly buying this one, when it comes out, unless its copy protected, in which case it wont play on my machine anyway.

I hate linux.

Ive just spent the last 2 nights recompiling kernels trying to get everything just perfect in my router/webserver/weathermonitoring/wirelessgateway/monitor everything server.
Actually come to think of it, its pretty cool that you can do all that stuff on a pile of junk i bought and threw together..
Not that it works yet, but im getting there.
Note to self. Run /sbin/lilo *before* restarting server...
